Software Engineer

Safety Software Engineer immediately required in Newcastle to design and develop software for motor controllers and supporting peripheral devices for electric vehicles. Suitable candidates must be able to demonstrate strong experience in C/C++/real time embedded software programming, requirements analysis, UML, test and CASE tools.

It is essential that applicants have software design and development experience in at least ONE of the areas below related to safety or mission critical systems:-
- Automotive software eg MISRA C, ISO 26262
- Safety critical systems eg IEC 61508, IEC 13849, IEC62061
- Aerospace or military systems

It would be desirable to have knowledge of:
- IEC61508, ISO26262, IEC 13849, IEC62061
- MISRA C
- Debugging (including emulators, On-Chip-Debug (OCD))
- Visual C# / C++ / other PC programming languages
- Volume Manufactured Products
- Common microcontroller architectures, (ARM Cortex, Texas C2000 DSP, Infineon C166/C51, etc).
- Digital Control (digital signal processing).
- Electronics hardware
- Principles of electric motor operation and control

This is a Senior role will involve some supervision and guidance of junior software engineers.
